Smoke Detectors Are Life Protectors
If your smoke detector doesn't work properly, the silence... could be DEADLY.
- In less than two minutes, you can pass out or die from poisonous smoke -
Nothing that costs so little, saves so many lives.
Most fires occur during the night while everyone is sleeping.
For minimum protection, install a smoke detector between the
living area and sleeping areas of your home.
For maximum protection, install smoke detectors on every level,
in every room, especially bedrooms. Always keep bedroom doors closed while sleeping.

INSTALL
Installation should be done per the manufactures instructions. Typically a detector
should be mounted on the ceiling or on the walls between 6 to 12 inches from the ceiling.

TEST
Test your smoke detector (s) at least once a month to ensure the detectors are
working properly. NEVER remove the batteries for use in another appliance
or toy. Test time is also a good time for E.D.I.T.H. practice.

MAINTAIN
Keep your smoke detector properly maintained. Dust your detector with a
vacuum. Clean to remove dirt and grease that could interfere with operation
per the manufacture's instruction.

REPLACE BATTERIES
Batteries need to be replaced at least once a year. If a detector begins to
"CHIRP", it is telling you the battery is weak and needs replacing. Use only
the type of batteries recommended by the manufacture.
If your smoke detector doesn't work properly, the silence... could be DEADLY.
